Joe Jamison, our speaker, with A.J. Sheridan, who arranged for the program The JIREH Project, sponsored by Lions International, was shared with our Sunup Rotary Club by Joe Jamison, a contractor from Cottonwood, who is a member of Lions. It is all about the Lions' worldwide goal to eliminate hunger by producing more food in less time and space, while using less water. Joe told us that Grow Towers are NASA inspired, having been part of a NASA Team's effort to potentially grow food on Mars. Using a Tower Garden's aeroponic technology, it is possible to produce 30% more yield, while using 90% less space than traditional gardening. Grow Towers can be used anywhere — indoor or outdoor, in garages, greenhouses, on patios and on rooftops. He told us it is possible to harvest up to three times faster with Tower Gardens than by usual garening methods, and that these vertical Tower Gardens use 98% less water. Joe and his neighborhood in Cottonwood are sold on the process, and they claim the vegetables grown are superior in both qualty and taste to those available in stores. To purchase Tower Gardens, go to US.TowerGarden.com/JirehLions. The Power of Rotary CLUB SERVICE We helped Eric Chester celebrate his 65th birthday with our club's birthday chorus.
