Sunup Rotary Launches 2025 "Let's Make A Deal"
It's that time of year again, when our Sunup Rotary Club will mail to each member our "Let's Make A Deal" limited-time offer.

Available only until March 31, our club will match your contribnution to The Rotary Foundation — to either make you a Paul Harris Fellow, or to take you up to the next Paul Harris Fellow Plus level.  Your personal letter will tell you what your curent TRF Annual Fund giving total is, how much you would need to make you a Paul Harris Fellow, or to take you to the next PHF+ level.  It will also tell you how much you would need to donate to The Rotary Foundation to achieve that, and the amount of the club's proposed match.

As stated in the "Let's Make A Deal" presentation at last week's meeting, our annual giving per member to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund SHARE must average at least $100, to enable us to sponsor either Distict Grants or Global Grant Projects, utilizing the TRF District Designated Funds.  As also stated in the presentation, through the use of TRF District and Global Grants, we are able to leverage in incredible ways the funds our club has available to invest in such projects.

Watch for your "Let's Make A Deal"  letter, and plan to give generously, to enable us to make The Magic of Rotary happen with our club's service projects.

Assistance for Victims of LA Fires

As you know, the Los Angeles area has been devastated by large fires that are burning out of control in several areas. Many thousands of homes have been destroyed, and tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated. Our Rotary colleagues in the affected Districts - Districts 5280 and 5300 - have activated District Disaster Relief Funds to assist the victims of the fires. District 5280 (Los Angeles) has also created a Resource Directory and online spreadsheet for In-Kind Donations.

During show and tell in first grade, a young boy mentioned that his pet beagle was expecting puppies. From then on, the class eagerly awaited the news of their birth. When the day finally arrived, the young man announced glumly, “Well, they’re here.” It was obvious he was disappointed, but because of the intense interest of the class in the pups, the teacher asked, “What’s wrong? Tell us more. “Well,” he said, “I wanted a collie and my sister wanted a poodle, but all we got were beagles—and we already have a beagle!”

A woman called the airline customer service desk asking if she could take her dog on board. “Sure”, the agent said, “as long as you provide your own kennel.” The agent further explained that the kennel needed to be large enough for the dog to stand up, sit down, turn around and roll over. The customer was flummoxed, “I’ll never be able to teach him all that by tomorrow!”

Can you believe it?  It’s already 2025, and we’re over halfway through our Rotary year!  As we reflect on what we’ve accomplished so far, let’s also turn our focus to the exciting opportunities and impactful events we have planned for the second half of the year.

Starting this month, the Prescott Valley Rotary Club will begin meeting every other week, beginning on Tuesday, January 14th at 4:30pm at the Elks Lodge.  This is an exciting milestone, as Prescott Valley is a new club launching from our own!  To ensure its success, we need to show our support by attending meetings if you are able to and helping to recruit non-Rotarians to join their efforts.  Let’s work together to help this new club grow and thrive.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce our annual Tri-Club St Patrick’s Day Party on Monday, March 17th, at the Hassayampa.  The event not only brings us together as Rotarians but also serves as a reminder of the fellowship that powers our service to the community.  There will be also an opportunity for our club to raise money.  Let’s make it a celebration to remember!

Finally, we’re diving into the planning for the much-anticipated Family Fun Fest, happening on June 22nd.  This event is an incredible opportunity to bring the community together while raising funds to support our projects and initiatives.  Your participation and input are essential to making this event a success, and we’re counting on all hands on deck to help this new tradition thrive.

In light of the devastating wildfires currently affecting California, let’s keep the affected families in our thoughts and prayers.  Many have experienced heartbreaking loss, and as Rotarians, we are reminded of the importance of standing together in support of those who need us most.

Each of these events highlights the essence of Rotary-connection, service, and making a difference.  Let’s continue to show up, engage and lead with the spirit of Rotary as we build momentum for the remainder of this year.

Together we can make this year one of our most impactful yet!

I’ll see you all on Wednesday!
