Thought for the day: Larry Noble - Things work out best for those who make the best of things worked out.

Sgt. At arms Rod Cordes harassed Ron Williams for being here, said we should merge our two clubs.   Dave Zimmer announced The Club Leadership Academy, Saturday April 27th, 8:30-4:00 at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix, Pastor Dan from Frontier Rotary was selling tickets for Grapes for Grades, Jane Anne announced we need tickets to be sold for Double Down and we need raffle prize stuff.  Gabriel the exchange student from Brazil won the pot.

Last Week’s Speaker:  Jessica Buckles (host mom) and Gabriel Gumares  Brazil (Portuguese: Brasil Portuguese pronunciation: [bɾaˈziw]), officially the Federative Republic of Brazil, is the largest country in both South America and Latin America. At 8.5 million square kilometers (3.2 million square miles) and with over 208 million people, Brazil is the world's fifth-largest country by area and the fifth most populous. The capital is Brasília, and the most populated city is São Paulo. The federation is composed of the union of the 26 states.

His presentation was a collection of pictures of the Amazon River, Christ the Redeemer Monument and many other sites in Brazil as well as his experiences here in the United States

Gabriel enjoys all of the exchange students.  They have gone hiking and hiked down Havasu falls to camp which took them 5 hours and 30 minutes.  Gabe experienced his first Halloween carving pumpkins and he was amazed at Trick or Treating.  He has gone bowling for the first time.

Garbiel has been to Oatman, Montezuma Castle, Jerome, Disneyland, Hollywood and Venice Beach.  RYLA was the best day of his life in America.  His school experience was interesting in comparison to Brazil.  In the US students change classrooms, in Brazil the teachers change classrooms.  He is active in Track and Field and he has played percussion in 2 concerts.  His favorite food is peanut butter and cheeseburgers and his least favorite food is baked beans.

Good morning Sun-upians …. Thank you all for the rousing send off for Ben Tuttle … special thanks to George Steiner and Val Ripley for coordinating  the send-off reception at the Phippen.  Thanks also to Bud Ackerman, Dwayne Warrick and Stan Steiner for stepping up to begin filling the huge vacancy in club services and activities occasioned by Ben’s departure.  Only one more week remains to take advantage of the “Let’s Make a Deal” offer of matching Paul Harris contributions.  Art Harrington reports a good club response to date.  Double-Down Casino Night is also fast approaching .. Whew
When you are asked if you can do a job, tell ’em, ‘Certainly I can!’ Then get busy and find out how to do it. – Theodore Roosevelt
