Happy Halloween! We had a ghost in the machine last week and were unable to create and send a newsletter. This edition has double the fun for you to enjoy. Edited by Lisa DeLeo His first experience with Rotary was back in 2015 when he attended RYLA at Chapel Rock during High School in Chino Valley. The Chino Valley Education Foundation Board is comprised of alumni, parents, school board members, and the community. 80-90% of their projects benefit students below the poverty level. The foundation also supports teachers. Projects Include: Yavapai Food Neighbors Project Shopping tote to collect food for families and homeless students. 30,000 lbs of food have been collected! Wow! The Hungry Kids project provide food for the weekends. Food provided by the green totes gets distributed. 350+ kids get meal bags on the weekends. Volunteers pack bags every Thursday and produce more bags than any other school district. Holiday Helper Stocking Stuffer shop: food, clothing, toys, these items are collected for homeless families to come and pick out items and have them wrapped for their kids. 400 kids are blessed by this! Emergency pantry has received $50 gift cards from Albertsons (Safeway) over $1,700 in gift cards has been received from Safeway. Bread is donated from a local bakery and loafs of bread are distributed to families. Uniforms have been bought for track team and sports equipment for students have been purchased by the foundation and donated. Meal cards are also provided for students to have for out of town games when students eat out of town after games. Back to school backpacks, and personal care items are also provided for students at the start of each school year. $61,000 dollars worth of scholarships were provided last year. Bags of Hope, 127 bags of hope for the two week vacations for high school students including how they will eat, stay warm, and basic needs. Bags of hope they will be filled with food, personal hygiene, something fun for students are home. Volunteers and Donations are needed.
