Welcoming Interact Ambassador Anne Beaupre & Team home from Kenya!

At our meeting on Wednesday, August 11th, District 5495's Interact Ambassador to Kenya, Annie Beaupre will share an inspirational presentation on the Interact Ambassadors to Kenya trip this summer.

This is a great time to invite a friend or student to the meeting to show our support for young Rotarians.

Art Harrington shared: “At Sunup Rotary, one of our goals is to have a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club. Thanks to everyone for participating in our “Let’s Make A Deal” to help support our Rotary Foundation.

In 2021, we were able to raise $4,538 this year through this Campaign. Our club’s total giving to the Annual Fund of The Rotary Foundation during the 2020-21 Rotary year was $8,318 — which equates to per capita giving of $163.10.”

Foundation Financial Realignment

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Sunup President Elect,Bud Ackerman presented a Foundation Financial Flow Chart that outlines in future years, all charitable funds raised by the club and the annual Foundation fundraiser, plus interest earned or 3% -5% of the permanent fund, be deposited in the FOUNDATION revolving account and budgeted for charitable giving for the following Rotary year.

It is proposed that all but $33,000 of unallocated club money be shifted from the operating account to a club service account and eventually, by Board of Directors decision, to transfer to the FOUNDATION revolving account to fund ALL charitable contributions in the 2021-22 Rotary year.

This will be done on an annual basis to maximize our impact in creating lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Coming Soon: Jazz Under the Stars

Jane Anne Shimizu announced that the next Jazz under the Stars Event is in the works. Date & Location TBD.

All proceeds go to the service projects of the Sunup Rotary Club to serve our communities by providing the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self” to all in need.

Event will include Delicious Food, Live Jazz, Dancing, a Silent Auction, a Raffle, opportunities for Sponsorship, and great fun!
