Meeting Highlights: Yoichi Matsumoto was welcomed back and Pastor Dan Storvick was a visitor from Frontier Rotary. President Neal McEwen read a thank you letter from Sedona Village Rotary for our support and gifts celebrating their recent charter event. John Stewart elaborated on Club Service plans to integrate publicity and additional fundraising for the Snack Shack project.
Great Extractions: Rusty Parker was Sarge and Larry Noble toted the pot. Sarge nailed Dennis Light for pictures in the newspaper and everyone else that hadn’t made up or didn’t have a pin and badge. JaneAnne Shimizu was happy for winning a football at the US Vets' online auction, and Matthew Phillips, Communications director for US Vets, was really happy for the $6,700 proceeds and thanked everyone for their support. Greg Raskin offered ways to make the many happy anniversaries celebrated today even happier. Lots of happy bucks for all the rain, lifting of fire restriction, and no power outages. Jerry Fohrman won the pot.
Our speaker last week was Sharee Sheets, new volunteer and Partnership manager for ShelterBox USA. This 4-star rated charity is the USA-based affiliate of one of the world’s leading disaster relief and humanitarian aid organizations. ShelterBox is currently responding to earthquake, flooding, drought, and hurricane disasters in Papua New Guinea, Somali, Bolivia, and the Caribbean as well as conflict situations in Syria, Iraq, Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria, and Niger. Each iconic green ShelterBox contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, a water filtration system, emergency lighting, and other survival tools for the most in need of immediate survival aid. ShelterBox USA is based in Sarasota, FL and Santa Barbara, CA, and is an official Project Partner of Rotary International. Sharee is based in Peoria, AZ and is a member of the Peoria Rotary Club. She encouraged our Club to donate which will earn us the HERO designation. She also asked individuals to volunteer and donate. For more information, see ShelterBoxUSA.org.

Good Morning Fellow Rotarians!
With our new Board in place, have we got a team for you! They will be asking for your assistance, of course, on all the community projects where you can be of service.
An important project led by John Stewart will be the lighting and resetting of one of the memorials on the VA campus. If you have any experience in building and/or lighting, please call or email John to help him get this project off the ground. The work that Sunup Rotary has done for our veterans in the past should be a source of pride, and this looks to be another great opportunity.
Budgets are being finalized so we can operate with great expectations. Let Dan Davis know of any ideas for upping our revenue, or cutting our costs.
